Hi all – Hope you have all made it through the lock-down and managed to stay somewhat sane…
So yeah, while we are all itching to get out on club rides, there are a few things we are going to need to do differently for our events during level 2 to play our part, and stay within the rules/guidelines.
So while you can expect to start seeing more club rides/events posted on both the Public and Members pages, we will ask that you respect the following when attending a ride:
Please don’t turn up at a ride if you are showing any symptoms
Respect people’s space and maintain social distancing (However Social Distancing of Roadies will still be maintained even at Alert Level 0 ?)
Ride within your comfort and skill level – The emergency services still don’t want to see you….
Rides will be limited to 10 Attendees, including the ride leader. This conveniently is the same number of people you can book in for a post-ride feed/drink…!!
Attending a ride:
To attend, you MUST put yourself down as “GOING” on the Facebook event for tracing purposes.
If there are already 10 people listed GOING on the ride, then please put yourself down as “INTERESTED”. You may be able to pick-up a place if someone pulls out (But see next point though !!)
Please Don’t put yourself down as GOING if you are unsure – You are taking the place of someone who is really keen to attend, and the mountain bike gods will ensure you get a puncture on your next ride!!
And most of all, please don’t just show up at a ride where you were not one of the first 10 to list themselves as going…
We will keep on reviewing how we run events within the context of any changes to the Government’s rules/guidelines.
So let’s get out there, look after each other and enjoy the amazing trails our region has to offer. Hopefully will see you on the trails real soon.
